AGENDA

Note:

We know that not all guests will be spending the full weekend. This initial agenda includes the wedding day and, for those guests who will be joining us at the Shylynn Ranch for the time we have it, we have also provided an outline for the other days. We hope you will join us on the ranch for as much of the time as possible so we can enjoy more of your company, and so you can enjoy this beautiful getaway. Weddings have  a lot of build up (even more so for this one) but they go by so fast -- we want to have as much time together as we can get :)

We will be updating this page as we get closer to the big event so check back!

Thursday July 7th, 2022

For those who are making a longer trip of it and are staying  on site, from Thursday late afternoon onward the ranch is open to guests and you may start arriving, setting up camp, etc. For those in hotels or other accommodations off site, we hope you come join us on the ranch for the days/eves as well! There will be lots to do, many people to see, full amenities for you to use, meals at certain times as outlined below, places to sit and gather (including in the shade/sheltered) and lots of the basic provisions such as snacks, water, coffee, etc.

By Thursday eve our rented equipment, including large industrial bbqs and a child's indoor play area (in cabin on site), will be available for use.

The agenda on Thursday will basically be to set up and relax for those who have come early to enjoy the full weekend with us.

Friday July 8th, 2022

am-pm

For those on site we expect we will all coordinate family style breakfasts though some may prefer to head off to explore nearby towns: Salmon Arm, Vernon, Armstrong, Enderby, and more.

During the day, there will be loads of outdoor activities on site as well as places to convene, sit, play games, have a drink, socialize, or simply relax with a book.  If anyone wants a bit more of an escapade, there are nearby, vineyards and craft breweries in the area, and fun spots to visit. For those who hang out at the ranch with us, there will be games for all ages (e.g. horseshoes, card tournaments, bocce) and a craft and toy area for when the little ones get tired of running around.  The Salmon River is on the ranch property also and is about a 20 min, picturesque walk  (or 3 minute drive) away. We certainly look forward to sharing as much time as possible with you on site as we can! There will also be various wedding prep activities going on most days and we will welcome a few helping hands here and there for that!

5:30pm   Dinner

We got a food truck! It is a taco and crepe truck and we will post the menu soon. IT will be onsite for guests to buy food from about 5:30-8:30pm. There is also always the  cooking your own meals or cooking family meals in groups camping style. Remember we will have a number of huge bbqs on site for cooking for our guests.

7/8pm   Karaoke/campfire music night!

Those who have been to our social events will not be surprised to discover that we plan to have a karaoke set up. This will be outdoors by the horse ring, so a tad weather dependent. And of course, totally voluntary! :) We also plan to have a few centralized fire pits and greatly encourage people to bring their instruments and voices for those times when a campfire jam session are live. We want to fill the weekend with music!

Saturday July 9th, 2022 WEDDING DAY!

8:30am- 10:30am

Group breakfast organized for all.   We will have a range of breakfast foods prepared in camp in large quantities for everyone on site to partake in. You of course can also plan your own DIY breaky if preferred.

10:30am- 2:30pm

For the morning everyone can do as they please , relax, get ready for the big event. If you aren't too full from breakfast you may want to plan for a midday bite but save room for dinner :) For those in tents, if you need it there will be many places to get ready between the RVs, cabins, and showers and washrooms.

2:30 Ceremony seating

This is when you should arrive at ceremony site for seating -- there will be ushers to help with this.

3:00pm  Ceremony

The ceremony site is outside on the field next to the barn. There will be seating. If it looks like it will rain we will have a plan B e.g. tent. As for what to wear, wear whatever you feel great in and makes you happy! And keep an eye on the forecast so you can dress for the weather...now with our new date it could be anything, including quite hot!

3:30pm Champagne toast

Right after the ceremony, and while still seated on the field, we will pause to soak in the moment with you all, to hear from a few of our friends on everything from the magic and merriment to the moroseness in marriage, and to raise a glass to love in all its forms.

4:00pm Cocktail hour

To get the festivities rolling, after the ceremony and before the reception we will have a cocktail hour with light appetizers. The bar will also open at this time along with plenty of water stations.

5:00pm  Kids Dinnerseating for kids under 12

To be able to include kids at our wedding, but still fit everyone in our limited seating, we will have a few tables selected for a pre seating for the younger crowd, with a simple but kid friendly assortment of food.

5:30pm  Reception start

Let the celebrating begin! This will be in the Shylynn Ranch's fabulous huge barn which will be set up for dinner as well as speeches, music, dancing and all merry making which will be woven throughout the evening.

6:00pm Dinner

Food is a very important part of our story as a couple and something we love. We are planning a catered family style dinner with a great feast of local farm offerings (meat and veggie), and an assortment of BC seafood. And of course some sort of delightful dessert. Also during this time there will be a few speeches made by friends and family.

7:30pm-ish Celebrate!

We've booked a live 8 piece band - music and dancing into the night!

12-1am

By 1am the sound system will be turned off but the festivities and music can continue around the propane fire pit. For all you musical types, please bring your instruments and songs!

Sunday July 10th, 2022

10am   Massive pancake etc breakfast - come one come all!

For the rest of the day guests can enjoy their time here and in the surrounding area as they wish. There will still be lots to do on site as well as so much more to explore in the beautiful region we are in. Nothing wrong with taking it easy after a long night too -- maybe a card game, a walk, a spontaneous jam session, or an afternoon nap.
